Gluten-Free Sweet Chex Mix
Warning – this treat is very addicting! It’s great any time of year but makes for an especially fun treat on a road trip. We also enjoy these yummy candy clumps during any holiday – just change out the M&M colors to coordinate with the holiday you are celebrating!
Ingredients
- 1 box Chex cereal, regular size
- 1 bag of gluten-free pretzels
- 1 bag of M&M’s, large bag (10 oz)
- 1 jar dry roasted peanuts, (or another nut variety–optional)
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- ½ cup Karo syrup
Instructions
- Preheat over to 350°F bake.
- Spread parchment paper onto the countertop. I use 2 pieces – about 3 feet each and overlap them width-wise.
- Spray a large deep roasting pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Pour cereal, pretzels, M&Ms, and peanuts into the roasting pan.
- Heat butter over medium heat until melted.
- Add brown sugar and Karo syrup; stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to a boil for 90 seconds.
- Remove from heat and pour over the dry ingredients.
- Bake uncovered for 8 minutes.
- Gently stir and bake for an additional 8 minutes.
- Pour over parchment paper and spread it out some.
- Let cool and then pour into a bowl for many to share or package into bags as gifts for friends to enjoy!
